[Day 1 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

I’m sure a lot of people has felt like they wanted to give up in 2015. Basically at anything. The problem, is that getting the motivation to become better doesn’t work in a blink of an eye. It comes from ourselves. So how do you get the motivation?

  1. Do you love what you do? Re-check why you’ve been hard achieving it. Have you been doing this for someone else or yourself? If it isn’t done with all your heart, whatever motivation you fine, I’m not sure if it will be done. I’m sorry to say this, but most of the times it’s true. Do something that you love, pour all your heart into it, and make a change.
  2. Listen to that voice in the back of your mind. Your instincts are your best friends. There’s no better trust than to trust yourself. No one understands you better then yourself. So let things flow as the way it’s supposed to be, and give yourself some trust.
  3. Other people cannot judge you more than you can to yourself. Whatever bad things people say to you, they don’t know what you’re capable of. They can’t be another voice in your mind. There’s only one voice in your mind which is yours! Forget the others, no one can let you down.
  4. Just keep moving. Whatever is coming in your way, keep going. Even if it’s just a step a day, if you keep it up constant for a year, you’ve already took 365 steps forward!
  5. You’ve worked, but no one has took noticed yet, so what? Let’s just say all that hard work was a practice, a resume, a proof that you’re committed on what you do. It’s okay, when ever you feel like no one has listened, to you, remember number 1-4. I’m sure one day there’ll be someone who’ll notice and look at what hard work you’ve done and see the best quality in you.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYBODY!!!!!! I CAN’T HOLD DOWN MY EXCITEMENT FOR EVERYTHING. 2015 has been a blast. Let me just say this is my 100th blog post!! I’m so glad of what I’ve been through in 2015, and much much more excited for 2016!

Plan Your Trip

[Day 2 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

You might be wondering “Where should I visit in 2016?” “I want to go somewhere, but what’s a nice place?”. Well you’ve come to the right place. I will help you plan your upcoming trip you’ve always dreamed of! Maybe.

Disclaimer: I love going to places more of the nature side, and I’ve mostly only traveled different sides of my own country Indonesia, Australia, Bangkok, and Singapore. But I will help you in any way!Collage.jpg

The most important thing before aiming your budget is when and how long you’re going. Are you going on a high season? Are you going for a week? When you’ve figured this out, your budget usually adapts to it. Note that everything on a high season is much more expensive and full!

Now you’ve figured when and how, it’s time to figure out whereWhere do you want to go? Is the timing right enough where you want to go? I mean, if you’re only going on a trip for a few days, but it takes you a 16 hour flight including a whole lot of jet lag, think again. You’re not even over the jet lag, then you’re out again, wasting 1/3 of the time of your trip on a plane. I might be exaggerating, but you get the point. So, find somewhere that suits your time.

So, let’s figure out on what kind of place you’d like to visit and why. Here is where your budget play a big role. Are you there for the nature, tradition, history, artifacts, or royal? What kind of place are you staying in; hotel, hostel, villa, camp? I’ll give you an example of going to Bali, which has many great views and artifacts. But there are also many stays like hotels and villas near the beach, rice field, villages, city. It just depends on what you like most.

Last but not least, with who you want to go? This involves with your budget. When you’re out with your friends you can at least divide some costs. If you’re backpacking alone you might want to find someone who lives where you’re going. My brother uses couchsurfing for that, and he’s very satisfied.

Maybe you know about everything I’ve said, but I really want to point out some small things to you. To where ever you’re going, figure out on how you’re going to places. Is your budget enough for that? Then what kind environment and traditions they have. Just search it up, it’s a lot of fun.

I’d love to give you advice on where to visit, but my advice can only go to people who wants to travel to Indonesia. I’m fortunate enough to have travel a lot of places around Indonesia. View my posts on Indonesia (here).

Quote of The Year 2015

[Day 3 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

2015 has been a loooong year, but not longer than 2014… Hahah, get the joke? Not. Anyways many lesson learned, and many more to come in the future. There’s always a quote that I hold on to which is;

Life’s a climb, but the view is great.

When I was in my early teen years, I loved Hannah Montana so much. Then came out Hannah Montana The Movie. It honestly taught me a lot, and that is where the quote came from.

Why is life a climb, and then the view is great? Like when you work hard, you have to climb up to reach the top, then rocks may fall off on you, winds, and all that sort. But the result when you get through it, you get to reach the highest top and see the greatest view.

It doesn’t just stop there, there will be people judging and hating. But hey! You deserve it after the tiring climb. Just don’t forget to help one another to those who are climbing as well. Don’t kick them down, the view will be ruined if you do.

Healthy Well-Being

[Day 4 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

It’s that time of the year where people start writing resolutions (read my blogpost). You can start anytime you want, I’m just helping out for those who have the will to start. What is a healthy well-being? Who can say someone has enough health for a healthy well-being?

It really does depend on perspectives. But what I know for sure the only person who can judge ‘healthy’ on your own body is yourself . Doctors, friends, and family can only say but remember that they can’t feel what you feel.. Life is a choice, being healthy is your choice. How could it be a choice? A choice of what you do, eat, routines. I will not go full-on detail, but I’ll just explain the basic importance.

  1. Food. Everyone would say “Watch out what you eat” when it comes to diets and being healthy. It’s true, though it is only 20% part of the healthy well-being. By eating healthy also doesn’t mean cutting off hundreds of calories a day! You also need those calories for your daily energy. I’m not a food dietary expert, if you want to know more search it up on others’ blogs.
  2. Feelings. What you think and how you react effects on your well-being. These things can cause stress, depression, anxiety and many others. Also called emotional health, which is a problem that gives negative effects to the whole of your body not just the brain. People would at least need to be aware that this is a real problem. When someone you know has emotional health problems, don’t isolate them. They don’t need more of what they can do to themselves, but offer them help.
  3. Calm. I know I know, we all have that moment when we feel tired and overwhelmed with all our tasks. But sometimes we just have to re-think. Is what we do worth the stress? Is the comeback worth the pain? You deserve a timeout. Your health is the most important deal. Without your health, you can never say ‘yes’ to jobs.
  4. Sleep. This one word is the hardest! Yes, I’m saying this to myself. Many researches has proved that sleep deprivation can cause many health problems. Getting enough sleep is like taking your daily dose of vitamins. It helps you stay balanced in life.
  5. Activities. What you choose to physically do effects the most on having a healthy well-being. We all know that exercising is the best way to keep you healthy. But at least doing anything is better than doing nothing!  Except if your ‘doing something’ means sitting with your phones and laptops on. Get out the house and do something!

Create The Ultimate Bucket List

[Day 5 New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

We all know what a bucket list is, right? For those who don’t know, a bucket list is a list of the things you want to achieve in life. We don’t do this to compete with other people, but simply to make the best of the one life we are given. This list will help you be motivated to reach a goal, not just living the same old same old day everyday. I’d want to share some ideas on how you can create your own ultimate bucket list.

Remember that your life is your choice, what ever other people tell you to do, your actions are the thing that counts. I don’t know why, but I’m really sure of what I said. Let’s start with some questions… Figure the answers without thinking of your limitations economically, physically, or even mentally.

  1. What would you do if tomorrow was your last day?
  2. Countries you’ve always dreamed of yourself standing?
  3. People you’ve always dreamed of talking with?
  4. Conquering your biggest fear?
  5. The adventure of your lifetime?
  6. Learning a new skill?
  7. What doesn’t kill but makes you stronger?
  8. Revisiting a childhood memory?

Those are just some examples of questions, the answers are your bucket list! What ever limitations you have in your bucket list, I’m sure there is a way to achieve it. If not, maybe you can find a twist, or achieve it in a different unique way. Let this bucket list not just be a story that a goal has been achieved, but also a story of the process of achieving the goal. How you can earn something by trying the best you can.

My own bucket list you may ask? On top is to re-visit my childhood back in Australia, I’d want to walk down the memory lane. But what I’ve achieved? A lot are small things…

  1. Purchasing a mini oven for my dorm. To cook myself meals.
  2. Achieving a diving license. To enjoy the life underwater.
  3. Going to a Taylor Swift concert. To sing-along her songs in live.
  4. Creating a blog and youtube channel! To share and meet new people.

Create something that when you’re old you’ll always cherish those moments of the ‘highlights of your life’, a step to the person you’ve become. Let all those haters who doubted you to hate you even more for being successful! Remember, life is a choice. If you want it, there’s always a way to achieve it.

Make The Best of Your Holidays

[Day 6 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!
Selfies, selfies, selfies… Instagram is full of them at this time of the year. People would almost do anything to make the best of their selfies, but what about the trip itself? You don’t have to try too hard to make the best selfies if the trip itself is good. So what makes the best of your holidays?

Not every ‘best holidays’ means going on a trip, but for this I will be talking about best holidays out.

  1. Look at what’s in front of you. Stop updating statuses, uploading photos, checking what other people are doing. But look at the beauty around you. Why check other people’s life while you get to have your own. See the small details of what’s happening around you, then you also have a story to tell.
  2. Enjoy the ride. The ride is what makes the trip so unforgettable. I know it may take a lot of money, a lot of butt aching rides, and sometimes the service is ridiculously disappointing. Well you’ve got to do something to get somewhere, just enjoy the ride! You chose to go because you wanted to have fun.
  3. Be kind. You’re going to someone else’s hometown.. Be kind to the people around. They’re nice enough to let tourists come look around. And also be kind to other tourists! They are there for the same reasons as you are. And last is to be kind to your travel partner. Although you have your differences, just face the fact that you won’t survive without them.
  4. Not everything goes according to plan. My advice to you is don’t plan too much. It’s better to be surprised rather than failing the plan and you’d be disappointed. But when a plan does fail or you got lost, don’t be mad yet! You never know if it turned out to be the best mistake of the trip!!

Fix Whats Been Broken

[Day 7 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

Have you ever had a broken piece? No, I’m not talking about a vase. More like what’s inside of you… I’m sure everyone reading this has felt a broken heart. And no, I’m not writing a cheesy post about break ups.

First of all, can you fix a broken heart? Definitely yes, but it will leave you scars. Scars are what will define and show the fears that you’ve conquered. Is a broken heart worth crying for? Of course, you need to feel the pain to understand what it really is. I’ll try to share some tips on fixing a broken heart.

There are three types of people from my analysis; 1) exaggerate, 2) runaway, 3) face it. People who exaggerate are probably the most annoying ones. They know that they’re hurting, they know their problems, but they do nothing to fix it! But honestly, they just need someone to care about them.. The runaway types are the people who needs the most awareness of their problems. They don’t ask for a lot of attention, but deep down they’re hoping for someone to come to them someday and change their lives forever. Last are the people who face it. These are the people who knows that there lives can’t go on without facing it, and it won’t go anywhere by doing nothing.

  1.  Understand your pain. You already know why you feel hurt, but most people deny the pain. Never try to deny it… Eventually it will come by to you anytime, even when you think your life is going smooth. Like when the problem comes around but you haven’t found a resolution to it, it will bother you. But when you’ve found a resolution, you’ll just forget you had the pain and realize the power you have now. How do you understand your pain? Ask questions to yourself, be brave. Understand that it needs to be talked about either it is to yourself or to someone else. Remember that time is ticking and it won’t wait for anyone, but also remember that it is never too late to do anything.
  2. There is no point of punishing yourself. Everyone make mistakes, everyone has emotions, everyone has their own problems. If you think you don’t deserve to live, then why do you have the chance to live? Everyone’s here for a reason, if you really don’t deserve to live then you wouldn’t even have the time to realize it anyways. There are a lot of people out there that would do anything for a life we have (internet and technologies). Don’t bury the fear, but conquer it. Then you’d have a new story to tell.
  3. What has happened, happened for a reason. This is like the cheesy quote “Everything happens for a reason”. But it is true! What happened before defines who you are now, and that is what is meant to be. We are only given a problem because we were given the strength from birth. So remember when a hurricane hits you, it came because you are stronger than the hurricane. Be grateful, and realize that you are tough and strong!

5 Points of Being You

[Day 8 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

First of all, Merry Christmas for those who celebrate. Have a festive day and be kind to one another!

Have you ever become a person you’re not? Just so you can satisfy someone who doesn’t even care of your well-being? Well I have. Do I think that’s a bad thing? Not fully negative, because it is never worthless. When you become someone you’re not, it is a journey to become who you are.

You will never learn who you really are if you never learn what you are not. – Syra

There are two types of people here, people who does it on purpose or people who just hasn’t realized it yet. There really is no use of becoming someone else. And there definitely can only be one of every person, physically and mentally.  So how is it to be yourself? What defines ‘You’?

  1. Stand up to what you believe. Don’t let other people tell you what’s right or wrong. What other people believe may not be right, neither is yours, but who can give you a perfect reason to say something is wrong? NO ONE. So if you believe it, then live it.
  2. Trust your instincts. Just like other living beings, I believe humans have instincts too. You might find a tingling feeling in your heart that you are in the wrong place, sometimes it is telling you something. Try to move out a little. If it really is the right place to be, then what goes around comes back around!
  3. No one knows you more than yourself. Some people say “It’s like you know me more than I do”. Errrrr wrong!  Only yourself can know what’s true of what people say about you. You have to be open to yourself, if you can’t do that then no one else will know your true beauty. And honestly, that is such a waste of a great life! Everyone deserves to embrace their greatness.
  4. Life is all about perspectives. There are people who treats negative comments as a motivation or as a life kicking threat. There are also people who treats positive comments as a satisfaction or an insult (there really is people like that). The way you see it also effects the way you choose life. Choose wisely. Remember that life is a choice!
  5.  What I always tell myself…. Just be yourself, don’t be afraid. Have fun! If you feel scared then forget of all the people who doubted you. They don’t care about you more than you do. If there’s one life you could be, be someone who hasn’t been taken, which is ‘Being You’.

A Dorm To Remember

[Day 9 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!
I’m currently a University student living on my own in a small dorm. I have the most ridiculous amount of stuff for a very small space. My most crazy never regrettable purchase is a mini oven. It makes everything so much easier rather than having myself go down from the 4th floor to a very dirty kitchen with no oven! Anyways, I will show you some ideas of storing all those stuff in such a small space and re-decorating your room into something fresher. I have also attached a video below of my ‘Dorm Tour’.

The most important thing is find everything a place. No matter how small your room is, everything has a place as long as you find one. At first when I moved here I was only given a wardrobe, a work table, and a bed. Now I still use everything they provided, but I bought 2 Ikea Billy shelves (link) that puts in all my stuff and makes everything neat. This spot is like a mini kitchen in my room. I prepare all my food here and I put my mini oven on top of the shelf.

DSC09895color.JPGTo keep everything in place, find storage boxes for every little things. I have small boxes  from Ikea (link), and this keeps all my techs, arts and crafts, just so everything doesn’t scatter around. Same goes for all you beauty lovers out there with a lot of products; find small storage’s to keep everything in place.

When everything has a place, you want to make things look nice, clean, and simple as possible. Cover every mess, because it is a small space. White works with everything!!! Cover with a curtain, a tablecloth, or even use that scarf you never use.

After that, decorate all you want around your walls. Don’t go too much because it will make your room seem small (that’s what I did before). I put some fairy lights on my wall, with some photos for me to look at everyday.

What Is A Resolution?

[Day 10 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

IMG_6973It’s almost Christmas and New Years! It’s a great time to start planning the year ahead. What do you want to achieve? What are your goals? You don’t have to start on every New Years, it can start anytime!! But why do people buzz in the beginning of the year? I feel like people start on New Years because it’s easier to track down everything on every month and on the end of the year. While we’re almost closing on 2015, let’s get excited for 2016.

So what is a resolution? Resolution is an action that you do to solve a problem. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a problem, but it could be something you do to achieve your goal. Does everyone need one? I don’t think it’s a must, but for those who wants to achieve something big, it’s nice to have goals to slowly achieve it. Imagine the excitement on reaching a goal, or even the excitement of the process.

How do you make a resolution? It’s simple, just think about something you can’t stop thinking about. Something you’ve dreamed of living… Then make step by step goals on achieving this big thing. You’ll be more excited than just putting the big thing as the one and only resolution. Every little process counts. Be excited for everything!

This is the beginning of my 10 Days of New Years Countdown. Starting today until the 1st of January 2016 I will be posting many topics all about life and taking advantage of the New Years spirit.
