Chiropractic Incident – Indonesia

Hey Humans!

A terrible news went viral in Indonesia, a girl named Allya died in August 2015 (read news here). It was allegedly said caused by a chiropractic malpractice. The chiropractic company and all the franchise was forced to shut down. Although it isn’t the chiropractic I go to, but my chiropractic is currently in jeopardy. One of the franchise of my chiropractic company that I go to just got shut down yesterday.

I have a sudden lost feeling.. Ever since I got treatments at chiropractic, it changed my life. I wouldn’t have understood my own body, I wouldn’t have become the person I am, neither would I be here today writing this post! My chiropractor is a very fun person to talk with, and all the other people who helped out are amazing people. I can’t imagine them forced to quit and find another job. They all have potential in giving a better life to other people.

I know that the news of Allya is very shocking, and scary. I’d have to admit I got afraid of chiropractic for a moment. But the 3 years going on 4 years of my chiropractic treatment helped my life a lot. Not did it just helped my life, but it helped all the people who worked there. I got to hear their stories, and they got to hear a lot of the patients stories. We weren’t just a boundary of patients, we turned to know each other when we pass by.

For now I can only just hope for the best of all Chiropractics in Indonesia. We all would never plan on hurting, it’s sad to have something like this happen. If every clinic had to close down, I’m glad that I got the chance to experience it. And I’m proud that chiropractic even succeeded to open in Indonesia in the first place, because Music Therapy is still so hard to start here. Whatever happens, I will always remember the times I had to come by to the clinic 3 times a week, walking around the halls of the clinic to show my clicking ankles to the doctor, and the time I first saw my wonky scoliosis back.

[Day 1 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

I’m sure a lot of people has felt like they wanted to give up in 2015. Basically at anything. The problem, is that getting the motivation to become better doesn’t work in a blink of an eye. It comes from ourselves. So how do you get the motivation?

  1. Do you love what you do? Re-check why you’ve been hard achieving it. Have you been doing this for someone else or yourself? If it isn’t done with all your heart, whatever motivation you fine, I’m not sure if it will be done. I’m sorry to say this, but most of the times it’s true. Do something that you love, pour all your heart into it, and make a change.
  2. Listen to that voice in the back of your mind. Your instincts are your best friends. There’s no better trust than to trust yourself. No one understands you better then yourself. So let things flow as the way it’s supposed to be, and give yourself some trust.
  3. Other people cannot judge you more than you can to yourself. Whatever bad things people say to you, they don’t know what you’re capable of. They can’t be another voice in your mind. There’s only one voice in your mind which is yours! Forget the others, no one can let you down.
  4. Just keep moving. Whatever is coming in your way, keep going. Even if it’s just a step a day, if you keep it up constant for a year, you’ve already took 365 steps forward!
  5. You’ve worked, but no one has took noticed yet, so what? Let’s just say all that hard work was a practice, a resume, a proof that you’re committed on what you do. It’s okay, when ever you feel like no one has listened, to you, remember number 1-4. I’m sure one day there’ll be someone who’ll notice and look at what hard work you’ve done and see the best quality in you.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYBODY!!!!!! I CAN’T HOLD DOWN MY EXCITEMENT FOR EVERYTHING. 2015 has been a blast. Let me just say this is my 100th blog post!! I’m so glad of what I’ve been through in 2015, and much much more excited for 2016!

Would You Be Fearless?

Hey Humans!

This world is a freaky place…. That sudden noise you hear in the middle of the night – that moment when you have to turn the lights off and run to your bed – to that bug you see flying to your head. Of all those fears, would you want to live fearless?

I honestly don’t know what it feels like to be fearless, and I wouldn’t know what I’d become with out the feeling of fear. Would I want to try? I’d probably say yes… But I think my life would feel empty. I’d have no challenges in life; isn’t that what life’s supposed to be?

If there was no fear, this world would be freakier than it already is. Imagine people having no fear of hurting other people’s feelings.. Not just hurting feelings, but what about physically? Absolutely no! Even to the smallest things like when I run to bed after the lights are off, I wouldn’t ask to be fearless. It just becomes a thrill before sleeping.

What do you think? Would you want to be fearless? Let me know what you think.

A Special Giver

IMG_7030 (2)

Hey Humans!

It would be totally awesome if I were a genie and I could give people their wishes. Receiving gifts is one thing, but having the chance to give one and be so much appreciated is special. Of course if I were to choose, the top 3 people I would give out their wishes are my family. But let me just put aside the family and friends..

I would go out to the streets to fine these 3 people. As what I’ve seen around my country Indonesia, there are a lot of people in need. I would really find the ones who work their hardest, not lie and cheat because that will get no one anywhere!

  1. Someone who collects trash for a living. Without these people our country would be a mess! In Indonesia people collect trash manually using a cart. They pick up the trash and throw it in the cart. Sometimes we forget that they’re humans too! They need money as well as they also have health issues due to their work. They deserve more than this. Their health is as important as everybody else’s, also their families that they have to find food for. They would deserve a wish.
  2. A parent who awaits their child’s arrival. This is sad.. I’ve heard a couple of stories about parent’s who miss their ‘so successful’ children. They do get sent money, but is that really enough? All they want is to see their child not their money. Money is not worth a human being. Some even thought their phone broke because they never receive calls from their child. Do you think that’s funny? They deserve a wish.
  3. A child who lost their parents. They have to work for their own food, and forced to leave education. There are also many stories of the older sibling giving up education so their younger sibling can continue school. Most of us take school for granted. But there are many kids out there that WANTS to go to school! They deserve a wish.

Let’s all take a moment and think about what we could be grateful of, more than thinking of what we think is the ‘pressure of life’. We don’t need to exaggerate, there are real problems out there. So get yourself off the sofa, off your phones and laptops, and be joyful.

Fix Whats Been Broken

[Day 7 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

Have you ever had a broken piece? No, I’m not talking about a vase. More like what’s inside of you… I’m sure everyone reading this has felt a broken heart. And no, I’m not writing a cheesy post about break ups.

First of all, can you fix a broken heart? Definitely yes, but it will leave you scars. Scars are what will define and show the fears that you’ve conquered. Is a broken heart worth crying for? Of course, you need to feel the pain to understand what it really is. I’ll try to share some tips on fixing a broken heart.

There are three types of people from my analysis; 1) exaggerate, 2) runaway, 3) face it. People who exaggerate are probably the most annoying ones. They know that they’re hurting, they know their problems, but they do nothing to fix it! But honestly, they just need someone to care about them.. The runaway types are the people who needs the most awareness of their problems. They don’t ask for a lot of attention, but deep down they’re hoping for someone to come to them someday and change their lives forever. Last are the people who face it. These are the people who knows that there lives can’t go on without facing it, and it won’t go anywhere by doing nothing.

  1.  Understand your pain. You already know why you feel hurt, but most people deny the pain. Never try to deny it… Eventually it will come by to you anytime, even when you think your life is going smooth. Like when the problem comes around but you haven’t found a resolution to it, it will bother you. But when you’ve found a resolution, you’ll just forget you had the pain and realize the power you have now. How do you understand your pain? Ask questions to yourself, be brave. Understand that it needs to be talked about either it is to yourself or to someone else. Remember that time is ticking and it won’t wait for anyone, but also remember that it is never too late to do anything.
  2. There is no point of punishing yourself. Everyone make mistakes, everyone has emotions, everyone has their own problems. If you think you don’t deserve to live, then why do you have the chance to live? Everyone’s here for a reason, if you really don’t deserve to live then you wouldn’t even have the time to realize it anyways. There are a lot of people out there that would do anything for a life we have (internet and technologies). Don’t bury the fear, but conquer it. Then you’d have a new story to tell.
  3. What has happened, happened for a reason. This is like the cheesy quote “Everything happens for a reason”. But it is true! What happened before defines who you are now, and that is what is meant to be. We are only given a problem because we were given the strength from birth. So remember when a hurricane hits you, it came because you are stronger than the hurricane. Be grateful, and realize that you are tough and strong!

5 Points of Being You

[Day 8 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

First of all, Merry Christmas for those who celebrate. Have a festive day and be kind to one another!

Have you ever become a person you’re not? Just so you can satisfy someone who doesn’t even care of your well-being? Well I have. Do I think that’s a bad thing? Not fully negative, because it is never worthless. When you become someone you’re not, it is a journey to become who you are.

You will never learn who you really are if you never learn what you are not. – Syra

There are two types of people here, people who does it on purpose or people who just hasn’t realized it yet. There really is no use of becoming someone else. And there definitely can only be one of every person, physically and mentally.  So how is it to be yourself? What defines ‘You’?

  1. Stand up to what you believe. Don’t let other people tell you what’s right or wrong. What other people believe may not be right, neither is yours, but who can give you a perfect reason to say something is wrong? NO ONE. So if you believe it, then live it.
  2. Trust your instincts. Just like other living beings, I believe humans have instincts too. You might find a tingling feeling in your heart that you are in the wrong place, sometimes it is telling you something. Try to move out a little. If it really is the right place to be, then what goes around comes back around!
  3. No one knows you more than yourself. Some people say “It’s like you know me more than I do”. Errrrr wrong!  Only yourself can know what’s true of what people say about you. You have to be open to yourself, if you can’t do that then no one else will know your true beauty. And honestly, that is such a waste of a great life! Everyone deserves to embrace their greatness.
  4. Life is all about perspectives. There are people who treats negative comments as a motivation or as a life kicking threat. There are also people who treats positive comments as a satisfaction or an insult (there really is people like that). The way you see it also effects the way you choose life. Choose wisely. Remember that life is a choice!
  5.  What I always tell myself…. Just be yourself, don’t be afraid. Have fun! If you feel scared then forget of all the people who doubted you. They don’t care about you more than you do. If there’s one life you could be, be someone who hasn’t been taken, which is ‘Being You’.

Syra 🙂

What Is A Resolution?

[Day 10 of New Years Countdown]

Hey Humans!

IMG_6973It’s almost Christmas and New Years! It’s a great time to start planning the year ahead. What do you want to achieve? What are your goals? You don’t have to start on every New Years, it can start anytime!! But why do people buzz in the beginning of the year? I feel like people start on New Years because it’s easier to track down everything on every month and on the end of the year. While we’re almost closing on 2015, let’s get excited for 2016.

So what is a resolution? Resolution is an action that you do to solve a problem. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a problem, but it could be something you do to achieve your goal. Does everyone need one? I don’t think it’s a must, but for those who wants to achieve something big, it’s nice to have goals to slowly achieve it. Imagine the excitement on reaching a goal, or even the excitement of the process.

How do you make a resolution? It’s simple, just think about something you can’t stop thinking about. Something you’ve dreamed of living… Then make step by step goals on achieving this big thing. You’ll be more excited than just putting the big thing as the one and only resolution. Every little process counts. Be excited for everything!

This is the beginning of my 10 Days of New Years Countdown. Starting today until the 1st of January 2016 I will be posting many topics all about life and taking advantage of the New Years spirit.

Cya soon,

Syra 🙂

Hey Humans!

It’s been a very rough week for me so far, and it’s only Tuesday today! I’ve had one of the worst day yesterday. This is my finals week, and yesterday was the day for me to play all my violin repertoire and do my music history exam. You could say I screwed up big time.

I was really down at myself yesterday. I couldn’t focus on anything. You know that feeling you get when you’ve done all your exams and you feel relieved? Well that didn’t happen to me, it usually does. And I honestly usually just “let it go”, but again I didn’t.

I consulted my boyfriend and my mom, they said the same things. Just let it go, it happens, calm down… It turned out everything wasn’t as bad as I thought. But really, why does it happen? These feelings? What does it effect to people?

I didn’t picture it in the big screen. What would happen if I completely failed? I wouldn’t die… It’s not the end of the world. If it didn’t succeed, then maybe next time, or it just wasn’t meant to be the way. I guess we’re just scared to let people down at that moment. Not just other people, but ourselves. But really, over-thinking and stressing things out just doesn’t fix anything! Nor will it ever be. So, when this happens let’s just say, IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

Have you ever gone through something similar? Share your story, and maybe we can relate.

Cya soon,

Syra 🙂

Exciting Upcoming Projects! (announced)

Hey Humans!

I’ve had some crazy ideas in my head. I love making independent projects just for the sake of self happiness. I’ve done a few now, but I still have a lot up my sleeve. I’ll share what I’ve done, and some exciting up coming projects!

So I have this youtube channel called “Random Syra” just like the name of my blog. And I’ve posted some projects over there. There’s some Travel Video Blogs that I’m so proud of. Another project that was a lot of hard work and I’m very proud of myself, is a project I did collaborating with a whole lot of other Indonesians scattered all around the world. I asked people to sing “Tanah Air”, and they did a great job! Come give my videos some love by visiting my channel.

*checking my sleeve*

Alright, I’ll share a bit of what my sleeve has.

I have been loving doing this 30 day blog challenge. And now I’m proud to announce that I will be doing a lot more serious posts…. By serious, I mean it.. Serious content, with serious pictures and sorts. I am going to be doing a “10 Days New Years Countdown”, starting on the 23rd of December up until the 1st of January. I will be doing posts about a better well-being, beauty, and sorts. The calendar is going to be refreshing, so why not we join in?

Another project I’m very excited about! I will soon have a new series up on my youtube channel. I can’t tell you exactly about what, but this is something really new, and I’m sure it will be amazing. I am collaborating with an amazing musician, Martin. Get ready sometime in December for a new series!

So I guess that’s it… I hope you’re as excited as I am (?) I will be more active once I’m done with my finals starting today! Eeeeeeppp…. *nervous*

Syra 🙂
